Role of Jane Barter in the most critical parts of the business

A lot of what keeps Hoverdale running smoothly happens quietly in the background.

Jane Barter looks after some of the most critical parts of the business — making sure our teams can do their jobs safely, compliantly and properly, even in high-risk environments.

From maintaining and continually improving ISO 9001, Avetta and SafeContractor standards, to managing insurances, supporting purchasing processes, and assisting with FIFO sales administration, Jane’s role sits right at the centre of how the business operates day to day.

She also plays a key role in supporting our engagement with industry bodies such as MHEA and SHAPA, ensuring Hoverdale remains aligned with best practice across the sector.

What sets Jane apart is her attention to detail. The things that are easy to overlook are usually the things that matter most — especially when it comes to safety, training, compliance and wellbeing.

Alongside this, Jane provides essential support to our Chairman, helping keep priorities aligned and the business moving in the right direction.

It’s not a role that always gets the spotlight, but it’s one that makes a real difference across the whole organisation.
Thanks, Jane — your work is genuinely valued.

Food-grade belt cleaning to control carryback and spillage

In food processing environments, effective belt cleaning isn’t just about housekeeping — it’s critical for hygiene, efficiency and product control.

On this application, Hoverdale supplied and installed a food-grade primary and secondary belt cleaning system designed specifically to remove dough build-up from the conveyor belt.

Dough presents a unique challenge. It adheres strongly to belt surfaces, creating carryback, spillage and unnecessary cleaning downtime if not managed correctly.

The installed solution:

  • Effectively removes dough at the head pulley and return belt
  • Reduces carryback and spillage around the conveyor structure
  • Supports food safety and hygiene requirements
  • Improves overall belt performance and cleanliness

By using a primary and secondary cleaner combination, the system ensures consistent belt contact and effective cleaning throughout operation, even under sticky product conditions.

While this application was within a food-grade environment, Hoverdale delivers belt cleaning and conveyor solutions across all industries, tailoring each system to suit the material, duty and operating conditions.
